Butt in the Air!

One of my favorite things about Turner is watching him sleep. No matter how you put him down he always ends up on his tummy with his butt in the air.

Turner turns ONE!!!

My baby turned one today! I can't believe it! It seems just yesterday we were in the hospital looking at this new little, and I mean little, baby. How he has changed our lives. All for the better of course.
Turner started walking the week before his birthday and was getting quite good and getting around on two legs.
We were very lucky grandma and grandpa Vernieuw were able to make it out for the celebrations. It is always more of a party when they are here.

We didn't let Turner burn his finger on the candle like we did when Hayden turned one. But he sure wanted to touch that flame. Luckily his big brother helped him blow it out and make a wish.

He than got a cupcake all to himself to make a mess as he pleased. He actually didn't do to bad.

One of his toys is a Tonka Truck that sweeps up small shapes when he pushes it. It can also convert into a sit on toy. Turned decided he likes it better when he stands in the toy and has his big brother push him around. Even at one his got the right idea.

What do you mean I'm not 29 anymore! And Mothers Day Again!

Well it was my birthday again and unfortunately I'm not 29 anymore. Though actually if there was an age I could go back to it would be 18. At 18 I was living at home with my parents. I had the basement all to myself, I worked part time and earned enough money to do as I pleased. I was starting college at the University of Utah and I had my whole life ahead of me. I was old enough to do all the things I wanted to and I had few responsibilities.
But of course I have a great life now and I wouldn't trade Dave and the boys for anything in the world. They are my life and I can't image how dull my life would be without them.
They were very good to me this year (and every year to be honest) for my birthday and mothers day. Luckily they are close enough together I can sometimes coax a bigger gift and this year was no exception.
I got not one but two pairs of Sketchers Shape-Up Shoes. These are awesome. After using them the first time on one of my normal walking routes my thighs and butt were screaming. It was a good scream. I'm hoping as I use them more they will help me lose more weight.
And for the best thing of all they got me a Cricut. You would have to be a scrapbooker to really appreciate this, but it is so much more than just for scrapbooking. Not only did they get me the Cricut, but they got me the Jukebox and Design software to go with it. I am set. I saw this advertised on TV and have badly wanted one for quite a while and now I have one. I've had a chance to play with it a little, and I am in love. Hayden has decided we are going to us it to make invitations for his birthday party in October. I'm not sure where he got the idea he is having a party for his birthday, but if he does my Cricut and I will be hard at work. Now if I could just find the time to sit and really use it.
Hummm!
Did I mention you can cut out vinyl for decorating. Watch out walls!

Another year older!

Dave turned 40! Man I'm married to an old man. Good thing he's so cute and I love him so much. What a day! Every year I try to make his birthday a special day to make up for all the crappy birthday's from his childhood. His favorite charater is Scooby-Doo so of course he gets Scooby paper and favors. Happy 40th Birthday Dave!
