Haunted Houses

Hayden and Dave got to spend a fun night out together at the Young Chef's Academy to make a special Haunted Halloween gingerbread house. Hayden was quite proud of his efforts. There is even a tombstone with his name on it though you can't see it in any of these picutres.
There was also a huge spider climbing up the roof.
Hayden has deciede it will be his breakfast in the morning. Well have to negotiate on that, but overall it was quite a good success. I think we will be heading back to YCA's again soon.

Bouquet from my boy!

Hayden is fasicnated with these little purple flowers that grow around in the yard. They are basically weeds, but he thinks they are pretty. Today he presented me with the most beautiful bouquet of these little purple flowers. Such an incredible and sweet little boy. I'm so glad he's mine. What a lucky girl I am.

It hurt like. . .It hurt real bad!

This morning I was putting Turner into his highchair for breakfast. I was being lazy and didn't fully take the tray off the rails. This was the first mistake. My second mistake was not wearing any shoes. Both of these mistakes led to the solid wood tray falling from the rails onto my big toe. It hurt really bad. But I had gotten a pedicure the day before so at least the toe looks good with a big bruise.

Trunk or Treat 2010! Turners first Halloween.

Tonight was the Trunk or Treat at our new ward. It was also Turner's first official Halloween event. I was cheap, I had him wear the lion costume I bought for Hayden three years ago. I figure he isn't even two yet so he really doesn't care what he is dressed up as, as long as there is candy.
Hayden on the other hand when I asked him about a month ago what he wanted to be for Halloween he tells me "a truck". A truck, please who want's to be a truck. We did narrow it down to Tow Matter from Disney's Cars movie, apparently Hayden isn't the only kid who wanted to be a truck for Halloween. So much internet searching later we came up with the Tow Matter costume and Hayden was thrilled.

Turner didn't quite get the whole concept of getting candy from strangers, but we made sure he got his fair share. Hayden had more fun passing out the candy then actually going around getting the candy. Fun was had by all.

Thumb Birthday!

Well it happened the big FIVE! For the longest time he has been referring to his fifth birthday as the thumb birthday. He comes up with some of the funniest things. So we were all very excited to celebrate this day with him. He figured since he had a big party last year he would get another big party this year. First of all there is an error in his thinking he will get a party every year, and secondly there is the problem that we moved to San Antonio and he doesn't know anyone to invite to a party. So in order to make the day special we decided to go to . . . SEA WORLD!!!

We started the day by having brunch with Count Von Count and Elmo and the whole Seasame Street gang.

We even got to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa.

Brunch was incredible. Not only was the food good, but the company was even better and Hayden was over the top seeing everyone. He even got to count to five with the Count because it was his fifth birthday.

He got to feed the dolphines and the sea lions.

Hang out with Shamu.

And ride the rides. The weather was perfect and there were hardly any lines. We got to ride the Journey to Atlantis ride three or four times in a row with barley a wait. Perfect time of the year to go.

Hayden got to ride up and down with a bunch of squealing girls over and over again.

And lucky me, I got to ride the Shamu Kiddie Coaster again and again and again because there was no line.

Hayden even got to take on the pirates. Apparently he lost.

All in all it was an incredible day. We may have to make it an annual event.
Despite all the fun we had at Sea World the best part for Hayden was the bike he got from Grandma and Grandpa Verniuew. He got to pick it out himself and he rode it all over the Wal-Mart on the way to the checkout counter.
