So yesterday was a really down day for me. I had this horrible headache that would not go away despite all the Tylenol I was throwing at it. And because of the headache everything else just seemed to be that much worse or extreme. It seems like we are in this crazy hurry up and wait cycle right now and it has been a little draining on me. My mom suggested I stop taking the sissy medicine and get some Excedrin Migraine, which really was a good idea had I thought of it earlier, but as I have had trouble sleeping lately I've been avoiding caffeine later in the day so I had to nix the Excedrin idea. I digress . . .
So I went to pick up the boys from daycare and not wanting to fix anything for dinner sanes headache I decided to head over to McDonald's for their family fun night and their $1.99 Happy Meals. Plus bonus Grandma Faye was working and who doesn't love to see Grandma Faye.
At McDonald's the boys and I order our meals and sit down to eat. There is another group of people eating, an older women (late 40's early 50's hasn't aged well, very heavy set), her daughter (mid 20's, blue hair in pig tails, yes I said blue, with sparkly eye brows and a shirt that says "I kiss girls") and the daughters son Tristin (age seven). They are trying to get Tristin to eat but he is fascinated with the fish. I am trying to get Hayden to eat, but he is fascinated with everything. So we strike up a friendly conversation, nothing to deep just small talk and we share napkins. Mostly I talk to Faye (I'm her newest stalker) as she's the reason we came and the headache has begun to subside finally.
The older lady at the next table comments about how cute the boys are (which they really are) and tells me how nice I am and asks about doing a play date. I explain that we won't be in St. Peters much longer as we are moving mid-September, but I give her my phone number and tell her to give me a call. I figure if she calls I can always come up with an excuse but in the spirit of being nice I continue to play the friendly person role.
We finally clean up our stuff and head out and as I say good bye to Faye and pack the boys in the car I see this odd little group getting into their car. I don't think much about it as I pull out of the parking lot and head home. The boys get stripped down and head into the bath tub as soon as we are home, when the telephone rings. I answer the telephone and it was Faye calling from McDonald's. She was calling because the older lady I had been talking to a McDonald's had been left there by her daughter and she, the older lady wanted Faye to call me (the women she met for five minutes, ten minutes ago) and ask if I would come back to McDonald's and drive her home. I explained to Faye that I couldn't do this as I had just put the boys in the bath tub.
Come to find out later the lady told Faye her daughter had a "brain issue" and she, the daughter might not have realized the mother was not in the car. So many things wrong with this statement. Why is she driving if she has a brain issue and how do you not realize you are missing a passenger? When Faye told the lady I would not be able to come and get her the woman called her husband. The husband told the lady he would come and get her when he finished eating dinner. Now this is the dinner the lady had bought at McDonald's and the daughter had taken home. My next question therefore would be the daughter apparently made it home with the food why didn't she just come back and get the lady? Apparently the lady ended up sitting at the McDonald's for over an hour before someone came to pick her up.
As I thought about this whole incident later I wondered if it wasn't some kind of rouse. Too weird for me, I'm just glad when I got the call the boys were in the tub.
